printer spooler goes down

I have Citrix Metaframe XP Service release 3 on windows 2003

Users connect remotely with citrix secure gateway. All users work fine but one user is making trouble

When he logs on everything goes fine but when he starts to print the spooler goes down. This point no one can print.

I have to remove the *.spl and *.shd file from the spooler folder and then restart the print spooler service.

I have installed exactly the same printers on the server as the one he is using.

It's an NRG D422/2822/3222 PCL 5e printer and the driver. He even gets the autocreated printer driver exactly as he should.

Does anyone know this problem or have an idea what to do to make sure it works.

Make sure this hotfix is installed:

Make sure users have write access to c:\winnt\system32\spool
Preferable replace the NRG driver for a simepl "HP LaserJet 5" driver from the OS cdrom, and map the clientside driver via the wtsprnt.inf, or use CMC printermapping.

I installed the hotfix but still the same problem.

I mapped the driver to HP LaserJet 5 and it was running ok. But now the problem came that the wrong trays were being accessed. So it worked but nog for the purpose we wanted.

Then we read an article about mini drivers. There were even mini drivers for the printer. We installed those and it is working great now.

So the solution to the problem was. Install the mini driver for the printer
