We have netware 6 SP3; Gateway PC with gig NIC cannot detect NDS and tree on the first login(you have to try a few times, sometimes the PC will reboot when you click on searching tree). Now all the queue printers on the same network will crash if one of the GIG NIC PC keeps searching trees(priters will lose connectivity to file server). You have to reboot server to get the printer back online. Any suggestions? we reapplied SP3, changed the NIC on server, still no luck. Thanks

You should switch your printing to NDPS instead of using queues. Also I would run a packet trace and see if that PC is sending out a large number of broadcasts that is killing your network.

do you have a gigabit switches?
what speed is the nic set to and what speed is the switch port set to

this isnt a netware fileserver issue
this is the pc's

Thanks for reply!
Yes....we have a gigabit switche(newly installed!). All the NDs issues started after that! The gigabit PC cannot detect tree(you need to try a few times and sometimes PC reboot itself). We took the gigabit NIC out of the NetWare 6 server and put N100 in it. The speed on the switch now run 100MB. Thanks again!

the gigabits should work ok -
this would suggest to me your cabling - is it cat6 or is it still cat5

Are you using the correct default gateway on the PC (and server for that matter)? Your issue could be caused by this?
