printer properties

when I go to print a corel draw 8 file the printer property page comes up in chinese instead of english. Any clue of how to fix this?

Does it do this just with Coreldraw? Or does this happen when printing from other programs?

Only CD and photo paint. Every other program I use works fine.

I installed a whole new printer, drivers, and reinstalled CD 8 and I still get Chinese. Talked with lots of knowledgeable folks - no fix. Has got me stumped.

I can't tell you how to fix it, but I can give you another troubleshooting step. Depending on your version of Windows (here's hoping it's XP), you can tell Windows not to display the east asian character set. By turning off this function, you can determine further where the code for the language display is originating.

Go to Control Panel> Regional & Language Settings> Languages. Uncheck the box that says "install files for east asian languages" if it's checked, and check it if it's unchecked. See what happens & let me know - it may not be a Corel issue at all. Hope that helps.

Good Idea. Did it and now instead of chinnese I get solid blocks with a letter every few blocks. This is just crazy. May have to break down and buy CD 10.
