I can't tell you how to fix it, but I can give you another troubleshooting step. Depending on your version of Windows (here's hoping it's XP), you can tell Windows not to display the east asian character set. By turning off this function, you can determine further where the code for the language display is originating.
Go to Control Panel> Regional & Language Settings> Languages. Uncheck the box that says "install files for east asian languages" if it's checked, and check it if it's unchecked. See what happens & let me know - it may not be a Corel issue at all. Hope that helps.
