I have an IBM Think Pad notebook with a docking station. The docking station gives me access to the ports not directly available on the notebook computer (serial ports, parallel port, external keyboard & monitor). NO CDROM. The OS was Windows 95.
All was working OK until I installed a PCMCIA modem card and connected it to the phone line. After several tries, it was clear that this computer was not going to boot up.
I tried to install Windows 95 via my parallel port Zip drive with no luck. Each time I tried to install this drive, I was told that no drive letters were added.
I then installed DOS 6.22 and tried to install the the Zip drive. Same message as above.
The POST (or BIOS as some call it) says that the parallel port is there and OK. The DOS MSD program says that is no parallel port.
What can I do to get my parallel port back?
