Actually it is a Dummy Local Printer piping through a remote queue.

I guess you followed my suggestion in thread58-1039945
In the /var/spool/lp/admins/lp/interfaces/dummy_printer_name script, replace this:
done | lp -dremote_printer_name
with something like this:
done | lp -dlocal_printer_name
to discover where the banner is coming from.

You are correct you helped me with this once before only that time i did not get the banner/footer.
Some clarification
if the local_printer is set to /dev/null will changing the pipe command to the local printer produce any output?

No.
If you don't have local printer, redirect the output to a file:
done > /tmp/Steve.$$

the temp file did NOT have the extra info
SO it would be coming from the remote side. Since the remote does not have an interface file what file does control any output to the remote printer

What are the operating system and the spooling method on the remote side ?
What is the contents of your local /etc/printcap file ?

SCO 5.0.7
spooler configured with rlpconf
jobs subbmited with lp -dprintername filetoprint

# vi printcap
"printcap" 2 lines, 75 characters
newticket:\
:lp=:rm=ticket:rp=newticket:sd=/usr/spool/lpd/newticket:mx#0:

So, the remote printer newticket is defined as a remote printer in the ticket SCO box ?

yes "ticket" is defined as the local printer pointing to /dev/null and "newticket" is the remote

so in the interfaces/ticket file is where i pipe to newticket remote

"newticket" is the remote
I guess you misunderstood my question.
What is the remote OS ?
What is the remote spooling method ?

it is just a tcp print server with an ibm proprinter attached

My guess is that the print server is now configured to print a banner page.
Do you know how to print its configuration and modify it ?

I will take a look at it, thank you very much for your time. I will post results when completed

The print server did indeed have a setting for banner:enabled

I set it disabled and that stopped the footer/banner
