I have a Epson "Stylus Color 880" printer. It has a black & color cartridge. I very rarely use the color but it has to be in-place at all times otherwise I can't print black.
However, the color cartridge drains at about half the rate of the black even though it never gets used!
I contacted Epson Support and they gave me a story about evaporation of the colored ink over time (they said 6 to 8 months).
This anomaly makes black printing very expensive..... and Epson very rich!
Does anybody know of a way to fix this. Perhaps a dummy color cartridge with some electrical jumpers installed to make the printer think the cartridge is a 'real' color jobby.
