I've got a HP DESKJET 612C running on windows 2000 professional. Its printing all kinds of garbage ASCII characters and I think it's double feeding paper. I've encountered this problem before when trying to print from a public lan so I'm guessing it is windows 2000. Any help?

Normally our solution to this is to turn off the printer, clear any queued jobs and restart the machine. If it continues uninstalling and reinstalling the printer/drivers has always done the job.

Worth scanning for virii too as said above.

I have found in the past that if your printer was half way through a job and was then disconnected, then you can expereince the junk being printed.

I had to deal with one the other day at a users desk. All i did was stood there for a couple of minutes feeding the same piece of paper through the printer until it had finished its job!
