Windows 2000, try to open the printers folder in the control panel and it won't respond. Have to control alt delete and end the process. Can't do anything. Any Ideas??

Have done virus update and scan and came up clean. Now when I try to open the printer folder, the machine freezes and I have to restart the machine. Strange??

Bcastner, Thanks for the tip. I finally got it to work by doing part of the instructions you posted. Turns out it was a printer upgrade that was on the network. The old printer was installed on the machine. Had to go into the registry and remove all the drivers associated to that printer. Then stop and start the printer spool and the printers showed up. There was one document stuck in the local printer cue, had to delete that. The printer folder quite responding. Use task Manager to stop it, open printers again, open service manager, stop and start the printer spool again. Install the new network printer, then I could delete the old network printer. All works again. Woo! TGIF.
