I am using XP pro and I have just installed the software and drivers for my Samsung ML4500 laser printer. The software/drivers installed OK and the printer works fine.

I have noticed that the in the Device Manager, the printer is classed under 'Other Devices' and everytime I restart the PC, XP detects the printer each time and wants to install the driver. Each time, the drivers fails to install, but the device still works fine.

How can I stop Windows XP picking up the printer each time it loads. I think the driver I am using is for Windows 2000 as there is no reliable XP driver for this printer. I have tried a couple of 'so-called' XP drivers for this printer and they just crash my PC. How can I fool Windows into leaving this driver installed and stop detecting it each time.

Any help will be much appreciated.

Cheers
