Here's the deal.
I have two printers attached via a Belkin dataswitch to a standard printer port.
Printer one is an HP Officejet 1050 all in one jobbie, whcih has installed itself to port DOT4_001. Provided the switch points to this printer, no problems.
Second printer is an HP Laserjet 1100a which is installed to port LPT1. No matter what I try, including taking the Officejet out of the equation and plugging the Laserjet directly to the printer port, all I get is garbage.
As an experiment, I set up the laserjet on a Windows 2000 machine and shared it across the network. Then added the printer to the original PC as a network printer and run a test print - perfect..so I don't think it can be drivers or dll versions.
I've removed and re-installed drivers until my fingers bled.
Help please before I toss it out of the window....
