I have a user who has lost or deleted his print to file port in his printers. He does a lot of work making Adobe pdf files so this is critical. Is there any way to restore this option? He really can't afford the time it would take me to reload his system.

I don't know if this will work or not, but try the following:

1. Go to add printer
2. choose Local printer and untick "automatically detect network printer"
3. Select "Create a new port"
4. In the port name, select Local port
5. When you are prompted for the port name type FILE:

Hopefully this will let you create a new FILE: port which you can then redirect printer output to.
