Hi all –

We are an evaluation lab with a Win2000 SP4 domain controller/print server in a domain we plan to scrap. This server was setup by a contractor 4 years ago and has functioned wonderfully as an “open” print server in the sense that anyone logged into a workstation that belongs to the domain will be able to access the printers regardless of how they are logged into the workstation (network or local user). We attempted to set up our new domain DCs in the same manner. However, although the server configurations appear to be identical, when a user is logged into a domain workstation as a local user, they are prompted to enter a username/password before being allowed access to the printers. On both print servers, the group Everyone is allowed print access on all printers. Suggestions on how to loosen the security on the new print server would be welcome!

Thanks -
Barbara
