Print A Memo Field in Columns?

It would really help the layout of a report that I'm working on if I could print a memo field in 3 or 4 columns. The space available is the full width of the page (landscape orientation) but only 6 lines high. The users like to format the comments (special instructions on purchase orders)in many short lines. It would be a lot better if I could split the memo into columns.

How can I do that?

TIA,
Shanachie

1. You can use a view as the underlying database for the report. The idea is the view can have the split of the memo field as individual details as per your choice.
2. You can also use SUBSTR() command to split your memo into different values to be printed as different positions in the report.
3. You can also use report variables and build the variables value based on the memo and print them out.

Hi Shanachie,

You may want to look into the Page Setup dialog under the File menu. There you can define the report itself as being multi-column. Depending on the specifics of your report it may be tricky to get exactly what you want, but it's worth a try.
