Pricing on R2. Anyone know how much it costs to upgrade?

I have many Windows 2003 servers, with a lot of CAL's. Does anyone know how much it will cost to upgrade them to R2?

Also, anyone know the release date? I can't find these anywhere...

Let me ask this question instead... How much would it cost to upgrade 1 2003 server to R2? And how much would it cost to upgrade 5 CAL's?

If you read the R2 FAQ it says that 2003 CALs are suitable for R2 so no upgrade costs there, i'm not sure of the cost of the server upgrade but if you are a software assurance customer there will be no cost.

A: R2 will simply replace existing Windows Server 2003 SKUs when it's released and will therefore be the same price as Windows Server 2003. However, Software Assurance (SA) customers will get Windows Server 2003 R2 at no cost if the release ships during their subscription timeframe.

Companies that bought individual licenses for earlier Windows Server products, including Windows Server 2003, will have to buy a new license for R2. I was looking for that link as i remember reading it. I still can't find anything saying how much if you already have a 2003 licence, is there an upgrade fee of do you have to buy a full new R2 licence.

I'll keep looking.

It's gone RC1 so very soon i imagine, you know MS tho never a concrete date.
