Previously Entered Values

Ok I don't know the technical term hence the searches that I have tried... failed.

On my development machine the fields don't show the previously typed values in a drop down type of field on a textbox (probably from a messagebox answer IE setting.) But on the machine that we used for the demo they did. Is there a way for me to block that requardless of the users setting? I don't really want them seeing the other values - especially on a login.

Jennifer,

You might be experiencing the AutoComplete feature (security flaw) of IE. If you select Tools|Internet Options|Content|Auto Complete, your demo computer probably is not using it, but the demo computer is.

I *THINK* this is driven by the control's name. Try renaming the control from "Username" (I'm guessing?) to "WombatDropping" and see if you still see the previous values.

p.s. I always turn this off on my computers - I hate seeing my credit card number appear magically appear when I type the first number.

I found the setting to turn this off on my pages. Setting this attribute in the form tag works. I believe that you can do this for select textboxes as well.

Since this application will be accessed from many computers, I can't rely on customers to turn that feature off. I too agree that is a bad "feature".
