IE 5.5 - every time I go to preview a page I get 'this page is not available offline would you like to connect' and it's annoyance I would like to end

I am sure I figured this out before my self but I can't find the setting to change this time...

(I know there is now IE6 but most of my clients haven't upgraded yet.)

TIA
Struth

this is your problem and has nothing to do with the site it has something to do with your IE settings
what it is i dont know but you will have to go to tools>options and figure it out
[afro] sometimes i just cant take it...then i realize its already to late

Hi Struth!

Check if Preview Using Application Server in Preferences (Edit > Preferences > Preview in Browser > Preview Using Application Server) is checked or not. If it's checked - uncheck it. Try now. Does it solve your problem? Good Luck! :-)

It's stopped BUT I am none the wiser as to quite why as I went through IE and changed so many settings - a spring clean I'd been meaning to do - that I'm not quite sure which did the job.

I do suspect 'Always dial my default connection' under tools>internet options>connections which was checked for some reason, as being the culprit though it seemed to need a total reboot for whatever it was to actually take effect.

Thanks again
Struth
