preview pane in outlook express 1

I have heard that using the preview pane in outlook express means that i can be hit by drive-by downloads. obviously i don't want this malicious spyware on my computer, but i cant for the life of me work out how to get rid of the preview pane. probably simple i know, but any help appreciated.

Click on View / Layout and deselect the preview pane checkbox.
