Hi

I am looking for a way to prevent outsiders copying a worksheet and so being able to view information that was hidden in the original.

I have Excel data available to view on a hosting website so my clients can look at it. I only want them to see their own information so they each have their own passworded spreadsheet - a version of the master spreadsheet filtered to their own client name. However, the password protection I have in place would not prevent them from copying the sheet and then removing the filters.

Is there a way I can let them view the sheet but not copy it? (The master spreadsheet is too complex to be divided up by client)

I have some VBA knowledge if this helps.

Many thanks in advance.

Harry

Have you tried the 'camera' command? It's a toolbar tool (available from the 'Tools' category when you customize your toolbar) that allows you to select a range in your worksheet (I suggest that this is your filtered selection) and then, by clicking the camera button, will let you paste a 'picture' of the cells elsewhere on the worksheet, or even in another workbook.

The picture created is dynamic, in that it updates with changes to the original spreadsheet.

I haven't tried it for your specific application, but it might offer you a solution.
