Premiere 6 doesn't see Quick Time

I'm a new user, plowing my way through the Classroom in a Book for Premiere 6. I want to import files from a folder on the hard drive (installed from the Classroom in a Book CD), but P6 isn't seeing the Quick Time files.

I have Quick Time 4.0. If I open the files from the folder, they play fine in Quick Time.

Also, when I try to select Multimedia QuickTime in the Load Project Settings box, the error message tells me Quick Time is not available.

I'm running Windows ME.

Can anybody help me?
