Premiere 5 on OS9 layer of OSX?

Is it possible to run Premiere 5 within the OS9 layer of OSX? Or is it best to boot directly into OS9?

I am helping someone who is getting an error about a 'digitizer input' while trying to run it in the OS9 layer of OSX. I recommended booting directly from OS9 instead as OSX may be holding control over the firwire ports (DV camera input) and denying OS9 control.

Any other ideas?
