Hi, I have a simple preloader on my flash movie. On frame one it gets the total bytes and the loaded bytes then if equal goes to frame 4 otherwise goes to the next frame which displays the percentage loaded then the next frame goes to frame 1 again. This works ok but when I view the movie the stage is blank for a few seconds then the preloader comes on but is already at 50% or so. Anyone know why this might be?

Better a link to your .fla, zipped up and in a MX only format, not MX2004.
You would have to save a copy of your MX2004 .fla, (using Save as...) and changing the Document type to MX only in the Save as... window.
