Hello,

On my website's home page, I want all the images to preload first, and then the entire page to be displayed at once. I don't want the visitors to see images loading one by one... Perhaps, a status bar could be displayed while it's loading. What's the easiest way to do that?

Thanks a lot!

Having pictures load one at time is the preferred method. How many people our doing to stare at a blank page for minute without moving on to to different web site? Very few, if any.

Having the text come up right away and pictures filling in over time prevents the visitor from getting bored and moving on.

Make sure all your images have width and height properties though. Otherwise browsers don't know how large an area to set aside for them until there downloaded. As a result once the pic is downloaded the browser has to move everything around to make round for it. There isn't anything more irritating then trying to read a web site whose text keeps moving as more pictures come into view.
