pre and post commands for remote server

I need to start and stop Trend Micro "server protect" services on one of my remote servers before running my backup. How is this accomplished on a remote server. I am using BE 9.0 and have seen where you put the pre and post commands, but I am guessing that this area isn't for remote servers.
