I have a PPTP VPN (All Win2K) from my house to another house. VPN server is on LAN1 running Win2K Server. Both use LinkSys routers. Both LANs are running 192.168.1.X internal networks and both are in the same Domain. I have taken a host from remote LAN2 and physically brought it onto LAN1 just to make sure it's domain account is set up correctly.
When I establish the VPN fr:LAN2->LAN1 I get connected. But can't ping the VPN server across the tunnel. Can't browse the network on LAN1 either. I've read the other posts and still can't get it to browse the remote LAN. Since boths LANS are part of the same Domain and I've turned on NetBIOS over TCP/IP I'm lost now.
Please help.

Once connected run the command IPCONFIG and verify that your Virtual Adapter is receiving an IP address from the remote side of the tunnel. If not, you need to configure your Server to either hand out static IPs for remote clients or use DHCP, if it is running on the server. If not you will need to add the DHCP Relay Agent...

Thanks,

Matt Wray

Yes,
am receiving a static IP address from the VPN server. I can verify that with ipconfig. But still can't ping the VPN server across the WAN.
