I had to replace my PIX 506 with a Cisco 831 router. Users who are behind a linksys router can no longer connect using their pptp connections. The error is 619. All other users who are not behind this linksys can connect just fine. Any help would be great!

Please try this as a test on one of the affected machines:

Copy/paste the below into notepad and File, Save as... Linksys.reg :

------- begin copy/paste below this line
REGEDIT4

[HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\IPSec]
"AssumeUDPEncapsulationContextOnSendRule"=dword:00000002

------- end copy/paste above this line

Double click the resulting Linksys.reg file and merge with your registry.

Reboot and test.

To resolve the issue i had to turn off IPSEC on my Cisco router

Error 619

"If you are using a device such as a router, a hub, or a network adapter for network address translation (NAT), the device might not be functioning properly. If the device provides firewall capabilities, the device might be blocking the connection. Consult the documentation for the device".

Symptoms: A Microsoft Point to Point Tunneling Protocol (PPTP) client with Microsoft Point-to-Point Encryption (MPPE) is not able to successfully connect to a router. The client receives the following error:

Error 619: The specified port is not connected.

Conditions: This symptom is observed when the router runs Cisco IOS Release 12.3(6).

Workaround: There is no workaround.

linney,

He was having firewall issues of a sort. He was not passing GRE ported information for NAT traversal.

He wasn't passing anything. With my lack of Networking knowledge I just looked up the error message and passed that on. Thanks for explaining it. You can see why we need our "Network Expert" at this forum and not elsewhere.
