I am currently running Win2000 server with Active State's Perl 5.8.0 installed.

I have tried to run the follwing:

ppm install Spreadsheet-ParseExcel.ppd

I am using an unpackaged Zip file that I downloaded from Active State since the computer I am trying to install the module on is not connected to the internet.

When I run the command, I get the following error message:
Can't call method "ok" as an undefined value at C:\Perl\site\lib\PPM\UI.pm line 881, <$__ANONIO__> line 17.

I have installed other modules in the same way without any problems, but for some reason, this does not want to install correctly.

Any help at all is appreciated.

Thank you.

PPM though... I've been fiddling with using local ppd's and I've been specifying a full path to the ppd - have you tried that mlibeson?

I did try the full path while running ppm from within the directory where my files are for the module. No success.

Thanks for the input.

It is also happening for one other module: OLE-Storage_Lite

I have been installing the modules using a user account instead of administrator. I am going to try when I get the chance, but does anyone know if it could cause the problem?

Problem solved. Silly me. I did not check to see if certain modules need to be installed first. Bad error message as well.

To install the Spreadsheet-ParseExcel module you need the OLE-Storage_Lite module installed first. In order to install the OLE-Storage_Lite module, you need to first install the IO-stringy module.

I hope this will help others.
