Powerware 9125 ups and S87XX servers

I have read AVAYA documentation that, on one hand, says the ups will perform an orderly shutdown of the S87XX server and then on the other hand, the ups will only (in a duplicated scenario) connected to the active server, will thru the snmp traps tell the server, if it is active, to become unhealthy and instruct the servers to perform an interchange.
Has anyone been able to configure the ups/s87xx to perform an actual orderly shutdown? And if you did, how is it done?
