hey all,
how do i get an embedded word table in a powerpoint slide to print using black font and borders when its actually yellow?

i mean powerpoint will print its own yellow text and lines in black, which is good... but when it prints the embedded table it tries to print it in yellow.... which looks crap coming out of our B&W printer.

any ideas?

Although this reply is a bit late....better late than never. You can control how powerpoint will print objects/text/graphs etc onto black and white printers

see
Control how your presentation prints in B/W

microsoft powerpoint mvp dude.

Maybe one of the following will work around your problem...

Option 1
Change the color either permanently or temporarily as follows:
right click the object
click Picture tab
under Image control, change the Color: to Black & White
click OK
Now print
If desired, change the color back to Automatic

Option 2
See if your print dialog box has settings to print in "pure black and white". Our HP LaserJet 4200 PS driver has two checkboxes in the lower left corner of the print dialog box:
___
/__/ Grayscale
___
/__/ Pure black and white
