PowerPoint 2000, .pps file, 7,071 KB link on web page takes forever to open (about 2 minutes),is there anyway to improve this?

It is a heavy grahpic, audio, movie presentation, but any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi

Over the net this would be slow. What I would do is zip it up and allow users to download it then they can view it locally which should be much quicker

Hope this helps

vree,

If the powerpoint file was created in ppt 2000 zipping it won't achieve that much compression (5%) as ppt 2000 already compresses the files.

If you want it smaller you will have to optimise the content.

For the sound/audio consider converting stereo to mono (that will half the size of the audio)

For the graphics...if it's only for on-screen use, see this tutorial...
For the video... I believe MPEG1 gives the best filesize vs quality..and still keeps it compatible with most PCs
