Powerpoint opens to edit, not as presentation

I created a small pp slide show. I attach to email and send out. When users click on it, it opens in powerpoint in edit mode, it doesnt run automatically. How do I make it run automatically when they open it?
cripes this is pp 101, I feel so silly...

After you save your presentation (.ppt) do Save As > PowerPoint Show (.pps) and email that file instead of your .ppt.
