Powerpoint 97 - Tmp files

Powerpoint does generate tmp files while it's in edit mode and slideshow mode. It normally puts them in the system temp folder
Something along the lines of
documents and settings\current user name\local settings\temp
I believe you can change the location in
control panel>system>advanced>environment variables (at your own risk of course)
