when using powerpoint 2000, if i insert a text box any type let's say "HELLO", i would like to give the text an outline.

(if i click on line colors, i get a box around the text. that's not what i want)

alternatively, if i use word art, i can get an outline around the characters, that's what i want, but the only problem is that i can't get to edit wordart text just by clicking on it as when i use a text box (i have to right click, then select "edit text"....)

any suggestions on getting text outlines using "text box" ?
or how to edit wordart just by one click on it?

As an alternative, you could create your text in Word (there's a text effect called "outline") or work up your text in a graphics application, then "Insert" as an object.
