I recently had occasion to check the various voltages produced by my power supply. I found that a couple of the values were about half what was specified. For example, the supposed 12 volt wires were only producting about 6.5 volts. The computer seems to still work, but I was wondering if this is normal or should I be looking for a new power supply. if you are sure of your readings, i would definitely be looking for a new power supply.

you may have measured from the 5 volt line to the 12 volt line tho and produced the erroneous reading. [sig][/sig]

Impossible !
The hard disk uses +5V and +12V, would not work with +6.5 instead of +12
Instead of +12V we have sometimes +11.5V
You had used probably the wrong "ground"
Check in SetUp of computer item Power
Modern motherboards show all voltages
CPU voltage is regularly based on 2.0V or 2.5V or so (not +5V as many years ago)
