In Windows 98 Second Edition, POWER SAVING appears in task manager on each startup. In the power management section, the system is set to always on. System standby is set to never. Turn off monitor is set to never. Turn off hard disks is set to never. All BIOS power options seem to be disabled. Is anyone aware of possible resolutions to this issue?

michael,

In Task Manager, I don't quite understand that.

So...What's the problem?
Can't you change the settings?

Go to Start>Settings>ControplPanel>PowerManagement and change the options here.

Have you checked Device Manager or the BIOS to see if Power management is on?
