power cables to motherboard & simms orientation

1. Does it matter which side the p8 and p9 cables (which in my case aren't labled as such) are installed on (left vs. right)?

2. Most commonly...with 72pin 16meg simms...do the chips usually face the power supply...or opposite?

1.) P8 and P9 MUST be installed black to black in the middle.
2.) You can't install them backwards, the slot in the middle is oriented only one way. (Slightly off center)
