Postscript Driver Problesm

I have been running into a lot of problems with postscript drivers as of late. Users are having problems printing various pdf documents. The documents are printing slower then normal, printing blank pages, or just getting hung in queue.

Have tried upgrading drivers with no success. Often users can find anouther printer that can handle the documents, but I would like to find out what is going on.

Would appreciate any help or advice.

Have you tried PCL drivers instead of PS?

I have tried pcl drivers. A lot of times they error out in the queue. In all cases they run very slow.

Most of these documents are scanned. A few OCR'ed. One document my users are working with now is taking about 15 seconds per page. PCL is slower.

I have tried compressing the document as well, with no affect.

Have you checked for firmware updates on the slow printers?

What model printers and how much memory is installed in them. 15 seconds for a pdf depending on its size is not that uncommon imo.
