Hi all,
Does anyone know how to change the default postmaster address used for NDR's ? We have a large organization with many domain names. Problem is all NDR's come from a single address, for example postmaster@abc.com . Issue here is abc.com does not exist in the real world and some mail servers reject the NDR's because they do DNS lookups for abc.com .
abc.com is the name of our Win2k domain (we also have 4 child domains)
We have no problems creating postmaster mailboxes for our various domains, it's controlling who is sending the NDR's that is the problem.

As long as all your boxes are in the same routing group you could setup a connector. All mail uses a connector before it will use a Virtual Server. Connectors take priority. This should make one box the main server sending mail. Dan

Thanks Dan,
Unfortunately its part of a gobal network and we have numerous routing groups. There must be someway we can control what/who sends the NDR's .
You can configure the virtual server to send a copy of NDR's , but not who they originate from.
Many thanks

The NDR comes from whichever server determines that the recipient doesn't exist. Dan
