Hi All,

I have a Cisco PIX 515 running 6.3(5) which I have recently taken out of service. I now have need for it once more, I erased the config, and now have a very basic config, however whenever I try to ping from the PIX to the outside router I get one response and then NO reponse received, I can however ping the outside interface IP.

I have tried everything I can think of, switching interfaces around, erasing the config more than once but still no joy.

Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance for any help

Jez

Did you check for errors on PIX and router interfaces? Check speed and duplex settings. Are you connecting these devices via hub/switch or direct connection? You can use a laptop and a crossover cable to test the connection of the PIX. See if the laptop looses packets to the PIX.

I sorted this one in the end, I changed the IP address of the outside interface and all seems well now, in fact the PIX is now in production use.

Thanks for the post

Jez
