My sales rep shipped me a 3810 cordless (according to documentation, it is meant for a Merlin system). I played around with attaching it to one of our digital lines (TN2224) and I do get dial tone - however, I cannot dial digits.

Does anyone know of a way to make the 3810 work on this system?

Or am I out of luck - in which case, anyone have any recommendations for a wireless/cordless solution?

Thanks much!

If i recall correctly the Definity wireless phones used 4 wire circuit packs. You could try connecting it to one of those and spoofing a wireless type phone to get it to work?

I think the center two conductors carry the voice path, and the outer two conductors carry the call\phone control functions, which is why you get DT but no buttons.

OK...I've got the backup alerting turned on - seems to work partially.

CONSOLE PARAMS

Calls In Queue Warning = 1
Ext Alert Port = 02b0321 (no actual device here)
Att Lockout = y

STA XXXX

COS = 0 (same as console ext)
BUTTON 9 = atd-qcalls
BUTTON 10 = atd-qtime

When I place a test call to our main #, the backup station beeps (doesn't ring), and I can't seem to pick up the calls.

Two questions....

1. Can I now bridge somehow to my backup station to make it ring (not just beep)?

2. How can I pick up the call from the backup station?

Thanks much for the help!
