Port mirroring on catalyst 2900 1

Probably very simple for everyone here, but I'm not too sure of what steps to take. I'd like to mirror all traffic on the switch to one other port for an IDS implementation. How does one go about this?
Any help would be appreciated!

example:
set span 1/1 2/1 This mirrors all traffic from 1/1 to 2/1

On a catalyst 29xx switch, use port monitor syntax, right?

int faste 0/1
port monitor faste 0/2
or
port monitor vlan 2
