Does anyone know of a quick and easy method of determining which port on a switch an endpoint device is plugged into?
I know there's pieces of hardware out there that can be plugged in causing the port to blink...
I'm wondering if such a device will even work with a Cisco switch, or if it would just shut the port down.
Is there a piece of software out there that accomplishes the same function, so that I can just plug my laptop into a jack or cable, and blink the port?
Barring that, if I've got the IP or MAC of the end device, is there a fast method of determining the same (port & switch), rather than tracking it from the router down via show arp and show mac-add commands?
