I have several 2900 series switches, some uplinking via gigabyte copper and other uplinks via port groups. I need some help understanding and configuring for performance. My "Core_sw" contains all servers the gatway router and uplinks to the other switches. It also has two gigabyte uplink ports and a single port group to another 2900 switch. The gigabyte connection goes to 2950 switch which is also port grouped to a 2924 with a fiber uplink to another 2924. Users are attached to switches off of the "Core_sw", all the way to the end or last switch.
there are NO loops. In configuring the port groups their is a configuration for source or destination forwarding. Suggestions on which would benifit me more. Source comes up by default, but I have been reading messages on this forum, and I get the feeling that destination is what I should have.
ALSO, STP... Except for the "Core_sw" the other switches have STP turned off, any thoughts on this?
I appreciate all your help.![[bigears] [bigears] [bigears]](/data/assets/smilies/bigears.gif)
