Dear Frends
can some1 tell me that where can i mention the ports to be blocked through the LAN card and how can i come to know that which ports are to be used for what.

thanks.

many thanks Zeb fro the response

but may be u overlooked my 1st question that where to go to block these ports also can i specify that for which users to block these ports.

as if i see in LAN tcp/ip properties it gives the facility to specify which one to allow but not for those to be blocked.

thanks

Are you trying to block the ports from LAN users or the internet?

If the latter, you might consider a hardware firewall/router as an option. There are also various software firewalls available such as Kerio.

If you're blocking ports from all computers, it's under TCP/IP Properties->Advanced->Options->IP Filtering
