Hi everyone,

Sorry, haven't worded the title of this very well!

When someone enters in a licence key code into a field on a form, they need to then click the 'Validate' button. I need the validate button to search in a specific table for the same value as what was entered into the form field. If there is a match, it should return a popup saying that it's a valid licence, and then populate another field on the form with a value from another collumn in the same table (same record as the matching. E.G Table has 2 collumns - 1 is the licence keys, 2nd is the number of valid users that key represents. The code needs to check for licence key matches, popup a message if found and then populate a field on the form with the relevant number of licenced users.)

Hope this makes some sense. I'm really confused as to how to go about this. If someone could let me know a couple of functions etc. then I can do some research in the help files.

Thanks,

Steve.

If Access VBA, you may consider the DLookUp function.
