Pop3 Service Not Responding

Xchange 2003 on a Windows 2003 box. When I try to start the pop3 service, I eventually get an error that says the service did not respond or start in a timely fasion, but I get no error in my error logs...any ideas??

I hope it's simple....
Go to Exchange System Manager and drill down to Protocols:
Make sure that POP virtual directory is started.

Right...this is were the problems is. It's not started and when I try to start it, I get a box that pops up and says

"service did not respond or start in a timely fasion

I got it..had to start the Microsoft Exchange Pop3 service first...it was disabled...
