Ok, this is a serious newbie question. I just set up Exchange Server Enterprise on a domain machine, and I can send out mail (SMTP) with no problems to a good working e-mail account that is not part of my domain. But when I try to send mail to a domain e-mail from an outside account, it never gets there. How does the mail actually get from one SMTP server to our POP3 Server, and do I have to do any special setup? Thanks in Advance...

The sending server should do a DNS lookup to look for an MX record. It will then connect to that server on port 25 to send the mail via smtp. Does the MX record for your domain point to your mail server and is your server accepting port 25 connections?

Chris.
