Pop3 Help plz

Hi Experts,

I have installed redhat 8 and 9.0 on 2 machines.. i want to enable pop3.. i have started the service of ipop3 from services ( GUI) ad if i give telnet <IP of my linux> 110 i get good response but if i give same command from some other pc i get unable to connect for this.. what could be the prob.. how do i enable pop3 service which shd give good response if i give telnet <IP> 110 from some other pc.
second thing is i want to install tpop3d and enable same thing for that also.. i mean telnet <IP> tpop3d port.. i hv no clue how to assign port for tpop3d in /etc/services and other steps and ebale it to accept from other pc's.. kindly guide me in these two

You can enable pop3 from /etc/xinetd.d/pop3 and change disable = yes to no. xinetd should be started.

Hi,

I did it by editing ipop3 and making disable=no.. still same prob.. i think by default it allows 127.0.0.1, do i need to enable it to accept other ip's also?..

Yes,you can configure to allow other ip address.
