I recently built a 2003 SBS. The domain I created was a virtual one (domain.local). My server sits behind a small firewall. I just configured it to connect to my isp's pop server (via the pop3 connector) and download my mail and deliver it to myusername@domain.local. However when using outlook if I send a message out the reply addess is myusername@domain.local. I would need this to be myispusername@myisp.com. I added another smtp address (my myispusername@myisp.com) under the email address tab in active directory users and computers and set this as the default so that any outgoing mail would have the correct address. However, once I do this my pop connector does not deliver my isp mail to my account. Anyone have any ideas? I am at a lost at what to try next.

There is a microsoft article what explains how to do.
See kb285136 at the microsoft site. Hope this helps.
