pop ups?

I'm getting pop up ads after installing windows xp pro. I previously had xp home and did not encounter this problem. I have not downloaded any files or programs. It seems to be directly related to the xp pro. Has anyone else had problems with this.

If you cancel (Disable) the messenger prog this will cure your problem. Note that messenger has got nothing to do with MSN messenger.

Sorry - should have explained how to do this - Click on start, help and support and in the box at top left corner type in "messenger" and hit go. - - Follow instructions.
