Hi,

Does anyone know of a free/cheap 'Messenger' service replacement that we could use for informing our users of system problems/updates, etc.

For example, I was thinking of some client software that runs in the system tray that polls a server for messages. A box would then pop up in the corner of everyone's screen informing them of events such as 'Please log off at 5pm tonight because an update needs to be applied to the system'.

Not everyone in our company has Outlook\email so we need a way of informing people of IT related stuff.

Any suggestions would be great.
